"The development of ethical standards emerging for companies operating in complex environments underlines the need for professional training in tactical firearms for private security operatives.
I am pleased that New Century can now offer courses that will train personnel how to operate safely, effectively and within the law. These courses underline our commitment to professional standards and to making security safer."
New Century offers tactical firearms training for individuals, new hires and existing teams working for private security and risk managament companies on land or at sea. Security personnel working in complex or hostile environments need the best training available. Our courses deliver training that conforms to recognised training and educational standards leading to a "Level 3 Award in Tactical Firearms" .
The "New Century Level 3 Award in Tactical Firearms" training programme covers the safe handling and use of 7.62mm/5.56mm and 9mm calibre weapons. Training provided on the programme can cover weapons such as AK47, AK variants, M4 and assorted pistol weapons used by private security companies. Supporting New Century's approach to quality, we have worked with Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC), the leading awarding body in the security sector, to gain endorsement of our assessment and quality assurance design for this programme. Owing to strict UK weapons legislation, all courses are delivered overseas.
New Century firearms courses are designed for security personnel who need to carry full calibre weapons for protective roles on land or at sea. Students are taught the necessary skills to operate weapons in hostile environments, enabling them to perform confidently at the highest standards to fulfil their primary role of protecting life and property. Training to Level 3 standard gives those seeking employment in the private security sector a distinct advantage in a highly competitive market. Completion of professional training to a recognised training standard will be a key employment differentiator.
The primary benefit for customers of private security companies is knowing that the people charged with their protection and security have received professional training to a recognised standard and have the necessary skills to fulfill their role. Companies with personnel who have received independently endorsed training, can differentiate themselves in the market and are better placed to win new business. In addition, such training may assist organisations in the negotiation of advantageous insurance terms.
The Level 3 Award in Tactical Firearms training takes place over 6 days and separate awards for 7.62mm/5.62mm and 9mm calibres are granted.
Training, which is strictly supervised, is conducted in Europe, on ranges that conform to military safety standards. The next available course is September 2014.
